Description
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Warewashing Service Engineers to support our nationwide service proposition, also known as a Dishwasher Technician or Commercial Dishwashing Equipment Technician. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial glass / dishwashing machines and related equipment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of commercial kitchens, restaurants, and food service establishments by ensuring that dishwashing equipment functions optimally.
Key responsibilities include
1. Equipment Installation
- Install and set up commercial dishwashers and related equipment in new or existing kitchens
- Ensure proper alignment, plumbing, and electrical connections for efficient operation
- Conduct equipment testing and calibration to meet industry standards
2. Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance on dishwashing equipment to prevent breakdowns and prolong machine lifespan
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and breakdowns
- Repair or replace faulty components such as pumps, valves, heating elements, and electrical circuits
- Clean and sanitize equipment components as necessary
3. Equipment Inspection
- Conduct regular inspections of commercial dishwashers to identify potential issues
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary to enhance efficiency and compliance
4. Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of all service and repair activities, including parts used and labour hours
- Prepare service reports and documentation for clients and employers
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies
5. Customer Service
- Communicate with all customers to understand equipment issues and provide solutions
- Educate clients on proper equipment usage, maintenance, and best practices
- Offer guidance and recommendations on optimising warewashing processes
- Stay updated on industry trends, new equipment models, and emerging technologies to enhance your skills and knowledge
6. Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to warewashing equipment
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety codes
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical training or certification in appliance repair or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial dishwashing equipment is preferrable
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Having a white good background in dishwashers or glass washers would be beneficial
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment
- Full UK driver’s license
- Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines
- Capable of using mobile technology such as tablets and smart appliances is essential due to the requirements of the customer portals and accessing technical information
